Believe it

As I lay in my bed I anxiously anticipate the launching of my site. To think on 9/1/12, I dreamt about an eye and now I had a business. I move to the left to sip my water and feel a shock down my back and legs from the nerve I pinched weeks earlier. I reveal that I’m only 35 but for the past 3 weeks I’ve been moving slow and steady from bedroom to kitchen and couch due to my back injury.

I surf the web on my Galaxy 2 smart phone looking for a distributor of the cycling hats made famous by Spike Lee as the Mars Blackman character in the 1980’s. As I close out a window I read the headlines on MSN.com that Lance Armstrong was stripped of his Tour de France titles. That sucks for him as he inspired so many people over the years achieving the unimaginable only to fall from the very top of his self-made mountain of shame.

After a couple of minutes on the web I was able to find a company named Walz Caps, which is a cycling caps manufacture out of Vista California. I spoke with a very friendly representative of the company who said that they would be able to manufacture a custom Specs Crew Cap. Just the thought of it brought chills down my arms to one day see people rocking my apparel and accessories.

After I hung up with the Walz Caps representative I spoke with a lovely woman named Faith Smith, who is the founder of The Original Eyes Cream Shades, which is an authentic collection of eyewear for kids and teens. I thought hey I have a company called Specs Crew so why not have a pair of Specs. I spoke briefly with her about how she started her company and how she had the passion to want to help other entrepreneurs fulfill their dreams. She also has boutique publicity/ consulting firm called Vision Passion Faith.

Most of the day was spent in the bed watching TV and resting my back. I also spoke with Judah One, the site developer, about the anticipated launch. At around 3pm Eastern Time my site Specscrew.com was up and running. Wow was all I could think. I was able to take a dream about an eye and discover that I could paint. From this new discovery I was able to come up with new and creative insights that led me to create the Specs Crew. As of today I have painted 44 painting’s with four of them being in private collections.

Through a suggestion from my lovely wife towards the end of September, I submitted my name and work to be apart of the 23rd Open Studio Hartford and was accepted. I will display my work at 56 Arbor Street on November 10th and 11th. I painted in front of over 100 people at the ultra successful Hot Chocolate Soul event hosted by founder and host June Archer. This past Friday 10/19/12, I was invited with my older brother Abdul R. Muhammad of The Dream Support Network and Never Stop Dreaming, to present to the students of Hall High School about the importance of chasing their dreaming.

So today I sit with my hurt back and all typing away on my official first entry to my blog. I have many images floating through my head that I wish to paint but they will have to hang out for a couple more days. Have you ever felt that you were apart of something that was going to be huge? It has been all about the feeling for me. This entire process of dream chasing has been amazing. I say Believe it…See it…Feel it…and Know it…Dream Any Spot.
